My name is Elizabeth Jones and I teach 1st and 2nd Grade Special Education here at Benton Elementary School. I started teaching at Benton in December 2016, and have enjoyed working with such a supportive and caring team! I recently graduated with a B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Maine.

Students in my classroom will learn the skills needed to help them succeed in Math, Reading, and/or Writing, depending on their specific needs. Evidence-based practices and curriculum are used as they work to meet grade-level expectations. Students may work one-on-one with myself or my Educational Technician II (Renee Bolduc), independently, or in small groups to increase academic skills. I also collaborate with the Regular Education teachers to accommodate all students in their regular and special education settings. Students may receive special accommodations for state/district/classroom testing, and/or modifications within the regular classroom.

I am a firm believer in building relationships with students and their families. I know that students need a strong and positive support system in order to be successful and I will work hard to find what works for your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I hold daily office hours in my classroom 124 West pod from 8:00-8:30am and 3:00-3:20pm, or by appointment. You may also email me anytime at ejones@msad49.orgLooking forward to working with you!
